About

The Early Years
Born and raised by cows on a farm in Mid-devon, my journey into technology started late when my uncle brought me a casio calculator from the outside world, I soon got the bug and upgraded to a rubber keyed spectrum. I quickly developed a passion for programming, spending countless hours creating simple games and exploring the capabilities of early computing.
After studying Computer Science, I fell into my first role working for a small software house in Bideford, Devon. I developed my relational database skills, working on MS Access projects for a wide range of clients.

The Working Years
My career took me through various industries, from consumer electronics at Sony to financial services at Moore Europe Capital Management. These roles allowed me to expand my technical expertise across a wide range of technologies and business domains.
During this period, I specialized in developing enterprise applications, focusing on data analytics, business intelligence, and bespoke trading tools. This was also when I began working with web technologies that would later become central to my development approach.

The Move Home
In 2020, I made the decision to relocate to Cornwall, returning to my family roots and embracing a different pace of life. The move coincided with the widespread adoption of remote work, allowing me to continue my professional journey while enjoying Cornwall's natural beauty.
This transition period gave me the opportunity to refocus my skills on modern web development, embracing technologies like React, Next.js, and cloud services that enable efficient remote collaboration and deployment.

The Future
Looking ahead, I'm excited about the possibilities at the intersection of web technologies and emerging fields like AI and machine learning. I'm particularly interested in how these technologies can be applied to solve real-world problems for businesses and communities in Cornwall.
My goal is to continue growing professionally while contributing to the local tech ecosystem, mentoring the next generation of developers, and building sustainable, user-focused applications that make a positive difference.
